Privacy information

How Khatamly uses information to organise shared reading and support your account.

Updated 27 October 2026

About this notice

Khatamly operates this service and can be contacted at support@khatamly.com. This notice describes the current app. Detailed processing grounds, international-transfer arrangements and retention periods are still being documented; this page should not be treated as a completed legal privacy policy.

Information used by the app

Hosts provide an email address and profile name, or sign in with Google. Readers provide their name, mobile number and a four-digit passcode after SMS verification. Khatamly stores khatam titles, dedications, deadlines, memberships, per-khatam display names, assigned portions, completion records, preferences and private messages. Reading activity and dedications may reveal religious beliefs; avoid adding sensitive information about other people without their permission.

Why it is used

Account information enables sign-in, verification and recovery. Khatam and reading records let the group allocate portions and track completion. Preferences adapt the interface and reading editions. Notification subscriptions deliver the alerts you enable. Session records and verification checks protect access to accounts.

Who can see it

A khatam host can see readers’ real names and assignments in that khatam. Other readers see the display name chosen for that khatam. Invite links and codes can be forwarded, so share them carefully. Private messages are intended for their sender and recipient. Authorised support has administrative access for account and khatam support; the app does not provide support with a way to set your password or passcode.

Services involved

Lovable hosts the app and provides backend services using Supabase. Twilio handles SMS verification. Google is involved if you choose Google sign-in. Your browser or device push service handles enabled notifications. Opening the optional support chat loads Chaat.ai; messages and contact details entered there are processed by that service. Chat is not loaded until you open it. Never send passwords, passcodes or SMS codes to chat or support.

Storage on your device

The app uses browser storage to keep you signed in and remember settings, reading editions and page bookmarks. A service worker and browser cache help load the app. Clearing website data or removing the installed app may remove local preferences and bookmarks; it does not delete your server account or reading records.

Your choices and requests

Contact support@khatamly.com to ask about access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection to processing, or data portability where applicable. We may need to verify ownership without asking for your password or verification codes. You can disable notifications in your device settings and use email instead of the optional chat. For general information about UK data rights, see the ICO.
